Countries like Mauritania, Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger are planned for the first part of the journey that ends in Timbuktu. During the trip many special and interesting places will be visited, like the second largest monolith in the world, a water hole over 100 meters deep and the sand houses in Djenné.

Robert will donate the piano to the local people of Timbuktu when he takes the plane back home. He will also provide a number of tasteful meals, and he has some more surprises up his sleeve.

The main reason for this expedition is the supporting of a number of charities, one of which is the Liliane Fonds. A number of Fathers will receive financial and material aid. Adidas has provided the expedition with 1,000 soccer balls which will be handed out to approximately 20,000 children and make them happy. The program also includes repairing a number of water holes, the delivery of medical equipment to a hospital in Mauritania and learning materials for a school for deaf children in Morocco, and the delivery of water pipes in Chad.

For people interested in participating in this expedition there still are open seats. The costs for this are approximately €700,- per week; flights, visa, shots and other costs not included. Participants can join the expedition in several places. Of each participant a donation in whatever form is expected.
More information can be obtained at Holland Afrrica Tour (HAT).

It will be a remarkable journey, with many unforgettable moments. The performances by Robert Berger along the route can lead to the most unexpected situations.
